REPUBLIC ELECTORAL COMMISSION’S FIRST REGULAR PRESS CONFERENCE
At the First Regular Press Conference, held today, the Chairperson of the Republic Electoral Commission Vladimir Dimitrijevic announced the preliminary results of the elections for national minority council members, held on 4 November 2018.
Dimitrijevic took the opportunity to say that 18 national minorities elected their representatives in a direct vote, while four – the Croatian, Montenegrin, Russian and Macedonian national minority, did so via an assembly of electors.
The 467,545 voters registered on the special electoral rolls could cast their vote at 926 polling stations.
For the elections, the Republic Electoral Commission had proclaimed 58 electoral lists, and the work of the bodies conducting the elections was followed by the following foreign observers: OSCE Mission to Serbia, European Union Delegation to Serbia, and the embassies of the UK, Croatia, USA, Slovakia, Turkey, Germany and Ukraine, as well as domestic observers and representatives of the submitters of the electoral lists who supervised the work of the polling boards and the Republic Electoral Commission.
Dimitrijevic said that the electoral process was fully transparent and went on to, based on the records received from all 926 polling stations - 3,428 in all, announce the preliminary results for each national minority.
Having processed 97.62% of the polling stations where 39.40% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Albanian National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List ALTERNATIVE FOR CHANGE (AFC) - SHQIPRIM ARIFI ALTERNATIVA PЁR NDRYSHIM (APN) – SHQIPRIM ARIFI – 26.73% of votes or 4 mandates,
- Electoral List DEMOCRATIC PARTY – Dr sc NAGIP ARIFI PARTIA DEMOKRATIKE – Dr sc NAGIP ARIFI – 15.63% of votes or 2 mandates,
- Electoral List PARTY FOR DEMOCRATIC ACTION – SHAIP KAMBERI PARTIA PËR VEPRIM DEMOKRATIK – SHAIP KAMBERI - 32.69% of votes or 6 mandates,
- Electoral List Sami Salihu – Movement for Reform / Sami Salihu – Lëvizja për Reforma – 8.83% of votes or 1 mandate,
- Electoral List DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF ALBANIANS – Dr sci. RAGMI MUSTAFA PARTIA DEMOKRATIKE SHQIPTARE – Dr Sc. RAGMI MUSTAFA – 12.35% of votes or 2 mandates, and
- Electoral List Association “Albanian Forum for Economic Development in Serbia” – Muharem Saljihu Shoqata Forumi shqiptar për zhvillim ekonomik në Serbi – Muharem Saljihu – 2.78% of votes or 0 mandates.
Having processed 98.67% of the polling stations where 45.12% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Ashkali National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “FOR THE WIN” – Erdelj Osman - 46.85% of votes or 7 mandates,
- Electoral List ASHKALI, BUT TOGETHER – ILJAZ RAMADANOVIC - 25.12% of votes or 4 mandates, and
- Electoral List “ASHKALI FUTURE” - 26.12% of votes or 4 mandates.
Having processed 95.07% of the polling stations where 52.31% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Bosniak National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “SELF-DETERMINATION – Dr Sulejman Ugljanin” - 40.02% of votes or 14 mandates,
- Electoral List BOSNIAK HERITAGE SOCIETY – ACADEMICIAN MUAMER ZUKORLIC MUFTI - 36.78% of votes or 13 mandates,
- Electoral List “VAKAT JE – Prof. Dr SAIT KACAPOR” - 21.80% of votes or 8 mandates, and
- Electoral List “STARI DEDO” - 0.60% of votes or 0 mandates.
Having processed 98.75% of the polling stations where 56.73% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Bulgarian National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “TO GIVE PEOPLE THEIR DIGNITY BACK” - STEFAN KOSTOV - 12.60% of votes or 2 mandates,
- This is us” – Natural Movement – „Това сме ние” – природно движение – Vladimir Zaharijev - Владимир Захарийев - 83.64% of votes or 17 mandates.
Having processed 100% of the polling stations where 25.76% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Bunjevac National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List BUNJEVCI TOGETHER - 67.01% of votes or 13 mandates, and
- Electoral List Civic Association “Bunjevac Kolo” Sombor - 31.26% of votes or 6 mandates.
Having processed 97.18% of the polling stations where 54.35% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Vlach National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List VLACHS FOR SERBIA - 93.35% of votes or 22 mandates, and
- Electoral List Association “Gergina” Negotin – Primarius Dr Sinisa Celojevic - 4.78% of votes or 1 mandate.
Having processed 99.22% of the polling stations where 12.90% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Greek National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “GREEKS TOGETHER - EΛΛHNEΣ MAZI” – Petar Rodifcis-Nadj - 97.48% of votes or 15 mandates.
Having processed 100% of the polling stations where 56.49% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Egyptian National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “ESNAF” – Kujtim Demir - 43.02% of votes or 6 mandates,
- Electoral List “EGYPTIANS FOR PEACE, STABILITY AND PROSPERITY IN SERBIA AGIM AJRA” - 24.74% of votes or 4 mandates, and
- Electoral List YOU CHOOSE YOUR OWN FUTURE - 31.11% of votes or 5 mandates.
Having processed 98.78% of the polling stations where 36.54% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Hungarian National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “Magyar Összefogás – Hungarian Unity” - 82.73% of votes or 30 mandates, and
- Electoral List HUNGARIAN MOVEMENT, Zsoldos Ferenc - MAGYAR MOZGALOM, Zsoldos Ferenc - 15.93% of votes or 5 mandates.
Having processed 99.58% of the polling stations where 47.14% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the German National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “Gerhard” Danube Germans – Together, Antun Beck - 57.00% of votes or 9 mandates,
- Electoral List GERMAN LIST – DEUTSCHE LISTE - 23.58% of votes or 3 mandates, and
- Electoral List DANUBE GERMAN WOMEN AND MEN, ALL TOGETHER - DONAUSCHWÄBINNEN UND SCHWABEN, ALLE ZUSAMMEN! - 17.81% of votes or 3 mandates.
Having processed 100% of the polling stations where 45.22% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Polish National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List WHOLEHEARTEDLY FOR THE POLISH - 98.08% of votes or 15 mandates.
Having processed 97.83% of the polling stations where 50.69% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Roma National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “ALL-EUROPEAN ROMA MOVEMENT” - 83.23% of votes or 32 mandates,
- Electoral List ROMA DECISIVELY FOR SERBIA - 4.58% of votes or 1 mandate,
- Electoral List RESPECT FOR THE ROMA – VLADAN STANOJEVIC - 3.36% of votes or 1 mandate,
- Electoral List ALLIANCE OF ROMA SOCIETIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA “UNITED AND TOGETHER FOR A BETTER TOMORROW FOR THE ROMA” – 2.51% of votes or 0 mandates, and
- Electoral List United Party of Roma - Jekutni Partija Romani - 4.68% of votes or 1 mandate.
Having processed 99.18% of the polling stations where 49.01% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Romanian National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List “Romanian List – Dr Jon Omoran Lista Românească – Dr Jon Omoran“ - 54.10% of votes or 13 mandates,
- Electoral List ROMANIAN STRANGTH–TIHAN MATASAREVIC PUTEREA ROMȂNILOR-TIHAN MATASAREVICI - 4.26% of votes or 1 mandate,

Having processed 98.82% of the polling stations where 47.82% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Ruthenian National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List Ruthenians Together / Руснаци вєдно - 38.44% of votes or 8 mandates,

Having processed 99.47% of the polling stations where 34.39% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Slovak National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List SLOVAKS FOREWARD! - PAVEL SUROVÝ SLOVÁCI VPRED! – PAVEL SUROVÝ - 25.63% of votes or 8 mandates,
- Electoral List SLOVAK HERITAGE SOCIETY IN SERBIA – LIBUSKA LAKATOS, MATICA SLOVENSKÁ V SRBSKU - LIBUŠKA LAKATOŠOVÁ - 45.66% of votes or 14 mandates,
- Electoral List Hey, Slovaks! - Michal Baláž, Hej, Slováci! – Michal Baláž - 15.35% of votes or 4 mandates, and
- Electoral List League of Slovaks of Vojvodina Liga Slovákov Vojvodiny - 10.94% of votes or 3 mandates.
Having processed 99.32% of the polling stations where 28.46% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Slovenian National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List Slovenians Together – Slovenci skupaj - 99.17% of votes or 15 mandates.
Having processed 100% of the polling stations where 40.87% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Ukrainian National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List KOLOMEYKA – Nikola Ljahovic - 19.47% of votes or 3 mandates,
- Electoral List “Your People, Your Voice – Together for Ukrainians – Miroslav Hocak” - 25.59% of votes or 4 mandates,
- Electoral List GROUP OF VOTERS “SENJUK” – IVAN KUZMA - 32.72% of votes or 5 mandates,
- Electoral List “SLAVKO BARANOVSKI” – “GOOD WILL” - 12.16% of votes or 2 mandates, and
- Electoral List KALINA – PETAR ZAKAMAROK - 8.50% of votes or 1 mandate.
Having processed 98.59% of the polling stations where 61.47% of the electorate had voted, for the National Council of the Czech National Minority the electoral lists won the following percentage of votes i.e. mandates:
- Electoral List Czech Future – Davorin Skornjicka - 17.42% of votes or 2 mandates,
- Electoral List “The Czech Community in Serbia”/“Česka komunita v Srbsku” - 54.52% of votes or 9 mandates, and
- Electoral List Czechs of Vojvodina, Belgrade and Sumadija – for All the Czechs of Serbia Češi z Vojvodiny, Bĕlehradu a Šumadie – pro Čechy celého Srbska - 26.47% of votes or 4 mandates.
The Chairperson of the Republic Electoral Commission Vladimir Dimitrijevic said that the Commission will ascertain the final results of the elections, as stipulated by law, 96 hours from the closure of the polling stations, on Thursday, 8 November 2018.
He added that the Commission had so far received four complaints on which it will rule within the timeline allotted by the law, within 96 hours from the closing of the polling stations.
